About

Fate Week is a week-long fan event celebrating the Fate series where content creators can create art and fanfiction using various prompts that will be provided by the mod team.

Mods Elisa and Hope came up with the idea to host a fanweek due to the fact that despite the Fate fandom being quite large and diverse, there haven't been many events that fans could participate in outside of zines (which not everyone has access to). By hosting a fanweek we can help promote content creators both big and small and hopefully build a community which not only welcomes both artists and writers, but would also encourage them to continue creating content that everyone can enjoy.

With that being said, the mods would also like to mention that whether or not you are an artist, a writer, or simply someone who's come here to see all things Fate, we want you to enjoy your time here and have fun during this event! What is a fanweek and how does it work?
A fanweek is a fan-hosted event which spans an entire week. Content creators who decide to take part in the event will create content of their choice—either art or fanfiction—based on the various prompts that the mods have chosen. Each day of the week will have several different prompts assigned to it, and these prompts can range from single-word prompts to more general prompts which will allow content creators to have more choices to choose from. Examples of prompts could be “Beach” for a single-word prompt or “Archer Servants” for a more general one, and these prompts can be interpreted in whatever way you wish so long as what is created falls within the general category of the prompt and follows the rules for this event. When creators post their content, they can use the provided hashtag #FateWeek that we will be tracking or tag our account @FateWeek which will help find and promote your work!

Who can participate in this event?
Anyone is allowed to participate in this event, and this includes non-English speakers as well!

Do I have to participate every day?
Nope! This is an event where you participate for fun, so you are not required to participate or give content for all days of the week. If you can make all seven days of the event then that’s great! If you can make only one or two, that’s fine too! You’re free to choose however many days you would like to participate in and create content for.

Do you accept late submissions?
Yes we do! Simply @ us or tag us using the provided hashtag that we will be tracking and we will promote your work!

Do you allow NSFW content?
For this week in particular we are NOT allowing NSFW content solely because we want this to be a safe space in which all people including minors can safely engage and interact in. However, depending on the results of this fanweek and whether or not people would like to see us host more fanweeks in the future, we will also consider hosting a NSFW fanweek if there is enough interest.

What are the prompts?
Prompts will be decided by the mods based on the information that we receive from the interest check. As of current the prompts have not yet been decided as the interest check phase is still in session. We will announce the prompts at a later date after interest checks close and when the mods have had enough time to review the collected data.

Are there any rules?
Yes, there will be rules. Currently the mods are putting together a list of rules which will be announced at a later date.

Will you be hosting more fanweeks in the future?
Depending on the results of the first fanweek that we hold and whether or not there is enough interest for more possible fanweeks, the mods will consider hosting more fanweeks in the future.

Guidelines and Info

❖ Fate Week is a fan event celebrating the entire Fate series/Nasuverse.

❖ Any and all Nasuverse/TYPE-MOON works may be submitted (including Kara no Kyoukai, Mahoyo, Tsukihime, etc.)

❖ Pairings, ship content, and AU’s are more than welcome.

❖ This event will run from January 10th to January 16th.

❖ Submitted works may be in any language.

❖ This is a SFW only event. NSFW content will not be promoted.

❖ All forms of fanwork may be submitted (fanart, fanfics, threadfics, poems, sketches, cosplay, etc.)

❖ Fic writers may upload their work to the FateWeek collection on Ao3 (the link will be posted shortly).

❖ When posting your work please include the day + prompt and use the hashtag #FateWeek2021. You may also tag us @FateWeek.

❖ E.g., Day 1 — Hero/Villain, #FateWeek2021, @FateWeek

❖ Late submissions are more than welcome and will still be promoted after the event has ended.

❖ There are two categories to choose from, both of which offer a variety of prompts that allow for some flexibility and lets everyone show off their creativity.

❖ Prompt 1 — One word prompts

❖ Prompt 2 — The classic word-pair prompts

❖ Prompts can be interpreted in whatever way that you want! The items in brackets are just there to offer you further ideas on what can be done for each prompt, so feel free to use them or to just do your own thing!

❖ Creators may post anything they want on Day 7 (Free Day) so long as it adheres to the guidelines.
